Photography

Somewhere deep down inside I want to be a photographer. I’m not sure where the desire came from. Perhaps it was because my dad used to have an awesome old 35mm camera that didn’t automatically focus or advance that he would bring out for every birthday in our house? Maybe it was all the time I spent scanning images from my father’s collection of old slides? Could it be because I read some blogs that talk about photography fairly regularly?

Whatever it is, I probably suck at photography right now. Here is a photo I took:

These are some pipes outside one of the School of Architecture buildings at the University of Texas. I took this with a Nokia 6126. Wait, what? That’s right, I took this picture with my cell phone camera. I guess it looks alright, for a cell phone camera.

Finally Framed

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

My oldest sister gave me a puzzle (she had already assembled) for Christmas ages ago. Then one of my brothers gave me a frame to fit for Christmas not quite ages ago. Today my friend kindly drove me to get a piece of plastic so I could put it all together. The puzzle is finally framed!

Suspenders

Image: Suspenders

par·a·noi·a: wearing a belt and suspenders simultaneously.

I have some cool suspenders that I will be wearing to church today. I used to only wear them under my shirts to keep too-big pants from falling off me. Then I performed in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Trial by Jury. Suspenders and a bow tie were part of my costume.

I decided the suspenders could be incorporated into my civilian wardrobe. I’m still not sure about wearing a bow tie to church, even though I have seen other people do it. Well, I’ve seen one other person do it.

That’s Why They Call Me Babyface

I apologize to all the folks still using dialup. That’s a lot of images to wait for.

My beard had to end soon. So it did. I thank everyone for their kind compliments on my costume. It has been one of the funnest Halloweens I have ever experienced.

Now I feel like I have a really small head, though.

By the way, those pumpkins we carved at Family Home Evening ended up going into some awesome pumpkin bread, which I can give anyone that asks. I also have a recipe for pumpkin pie which I will be trying out soon. This is what Halloween is all about: growing a beard just to shave it off and carving a pumpkin just to eat it come November.
